New ObservatoryNANO reports now available
As one of the leaders of the ObservatoryNano project, Bax & Willems has co-authoresd four reports about the impact of nanotechnology in different industrial activities, including construction, textiles, transport and electric vehicle. These reports were recently finished and are available at www.observatorynano.eu
The primary aim of the ObservatoryNano project and its reports is to support European decision-makers with information and analysis on developments in nanoscience and nanotechnology (N&N). The final goal of the project is to establish a permanent European Observatory on Nanotechnologies, to provide ongoing, independent support to decision-makers.
This year, the focus of the report about the applications of nanotechnology in the construction industry has been the impact of nanotechnology on adhesives and sealants. In the case of textiles, the focus was medical and sports textiles, while in transport the focus was coatings, adhesives and sealants. The EV report analyses the role that nanotechnology will play in the development of the electric vehicle, especially in battery technology. We are now working on the selection of topics for our next reports.
