ObservatoryNano conference and exhibition stand in Budapest
Last month Bax & Willems organized the annual workshop of the ObservatoryNano project; the event took place as part of the EuroNanoForum conference in Budapest. We also shared all publications and other deliverables of the project through an exhibition stand at the same ENF conference, which welcomed well over one thousand participants. The focus of the workshop was on nanotech innovation policy making; offering fact-based information and strategic insights to policy makers that need to optimize their innovation policies towards facilitating the science-to-market transition that nanotechnologies need to make. Besides quite a few ObservatoryNano speakers, also we had policymakers, incubator directors and other stakeholder present their vision. In all the workshop showcased what the ObservatoryNano project can contribute to fact-based policy making and also served as a platform for dialogue regarding the most urgent needs for policy-supporting data that policymakers need. During the exhibition we also distributed ObservatoryNano USB sticks containing over 2000 pages of nanotech related information and data as gathered by the consortium over the last three years. Now moving into its final fourth year, the project is working on a comprehensive overview report on business impact of nanotechnology titled 'State of Nanotechnology' which is due for publication later this year. Any nanotech related company that wants to get its voice heard should spend some 10 minutes completing the projects European nanotech industry census which can be accessed at www.nano.org.uk/obsnano.
